Give C&C Automotive a call to schedule a fluid service appointment. We will inspect all of the auto fluids in your vehicle and change the ones that are dirty. Let’s talk about the different automotive fluids below. We are going to sort them by color because that helps you identify the fluid if it is leaking on your garage floor. Hopefully, your vehicle does not have a fluid leak.
Blue
If it does, however, and the fluid is blue, your car, truck, or utility vehicle is most likely leaking the washing solution that you use to clean your windshield. This cleaning solution is blue. In rare cases, you may also have blue antifreeze/coolant in the cooling system.
Brown
It isn’t a good idea to drive your automobile if it is leaking coolant, and it is a good idea to drive it if it is leaking brown fluid. The brown fluid could be the motor oil, the brake fluid, or the differential oil. You don’t want to drive your vehicle when it is leaking one of these fluids.
Clear
It is likely okay to keep driving if the fluid that is leaking from your automobile is clear. In nearly all cases, this fluid is water dripping off the air conditioning system or out of the tailpipe. We do recommend, however, that you smell the fluid to make sure it isn’t fuel.
Green
The antifreeze/coolant can come in many different shades of green including green-blue, neon green, or just plain old green. Again, if you operate your vehicle when it is leaking coolant, the level may get so low that your engine will overheat.
Orange
Another color in which antifreeze/coolant comes is orange. You can check your overflow reservoir to see if the color of your antifreeze/coolant is orange. If the coolant is a different color yet you still have orange spots on the garage floor, it’s possible that the coolant has rust in it.
Red
You learned above that your automobile has three brown fluids in it. It may also have three red fluids and it. The transmission fluid is red, and so is the power steering fluid. You may also have antifreeze/coolant that is the color red.
Yellow
One final color that antifreeze/coolant comes in is yellow. As with green, the color could be yellow-green, neon yellow, or just plain old yellow.
